1-day Visit to Elephant Special Reserve

Our short eco tour to the Thai elephant conservation center in Lampang is a great day out for elephant lovers. Experience these majestic creatures close-up in a natural environment.

Enjoy interaction with baby elephants in the elephant enclosure and an adult elephant ride into the jungle. Small groups, usually between 2-8 people. The full range of activities is detailed below.

Noted: an elephant ride as optional please pay directly at the conservation centre before the ride.

Trip Itinerary:

8:00 am: Depart from Chiang Mai to the Thai Elephant conservation center.

9:45 am: See Elephants bathing in the lake, followed by the Elephant training show.

We then visit the Elephant dung paper mini-factory where you can see how paper is made and participate in the process if you wish.

Lastly, before lunch, we enjoy an Elephant ride through the forest for 30-45 minutes.

Break one hour for lunch, with the view of the elephants relaxing in the distance..

1:00 pm: Following lunch, we drive through the local forest for 10 minutes to see the Elephant museum, Elephant cemetery, and the Young Elephant School where Elephants are trained in a humanitarian, old-fashioned way.

Then back to the car and drive to visit the Elephant hospital (for the elephants who have suffered from hard work through tourism, stepping on a land mine while hauling timbers or ivory infected from being cut, etc) and the Elephant nursery

3:30 pm: On the way back to Chiang Mai we stop to explore a local exotic market.

Arrive back in Chiang Mai at approx. 5:00 pm.
